The 'Rockies to the Red Rocks' route will be a two-day rail journey between Denver, Colorado, and Moab, Utah, with an overnight stay in Glenwood Springs, Colorado
We love the Rocky Mountaineer, which in 2020 was supposed to be celebrating 30 years of delivering their iconic rail experience through the Canadian Rockies.
The belated celebrations will continue as the world starts to open up again and in addition to the pent-up demand, there is a very exciting new experience now booking with the launch of the 'Rockies to the Red Rocks' route, a two-day service connecting the mile-high cosmopolitan US city of Denver, Colorado to Moab, Utah - the gateway to the great national parks of the USA.
Taking guests on a journey through extraordinary scenery of vast canyons and inspiring deserts, the adventure features a halfway overnight stay in the lovely resort town of Glenwood Springs, Colorado.
The train travels only during the day, and with much of the route inaccessible by car, you will not miss a moment of the every-changing landscapes seen through the train’s oversized windows.
Rocky Mountaineer is also the only passenger train taking guests directly to Moab, with arrival just a short coach drive from the downtown area.
This route will offer the renowned luxury SilverLeaf service with its glass domed carriages allowing you to experience the breathtaking views with gourmet dining and drinks set in an informal social atmosphere with an option to upgrade to a new service, SilverLeaf Plus, that offers the additional benefits of a designated viewing deck complemented with cocktails.
With a great selection of flights available from the UK, this itinerary can be combined beautifully with an extension on to Las Vegas or Salt Lake City.
The route will be available from August until October 2021 and we are already making bookings for 2022.
A massive thank you to our friends at Prestige Holidays for their fabulous online showcasing of the new route.
