Casita Andina with Latin Routes

We were kindly asked by Jess at Latin Routes to go out for dinner after some fantastic bookings that followed our showcase event in September.

Jess chose a Peruvian restaurant in Piccadilly called Casita Andina. It’s her favourite South American restaurant in the UK and I can see why.

Jess lived and studied in Argentina for a year, where she fell in love with South America and after working at Trailfinders to co set up Latin Routes six years ago, it’s safe to say she knows about South American cuisine.

Casita Andina was a hidden gem of a restaurant, which really gave us a feel for Peruvian hospitality. It looks very pretty from the outside and has some very comfy seating.

We ordered a selection of starters, which were called cervices, consisting mostly of raw fish. It was absolutely amazing. The seabass was my favourite as it came in a beautifully flavoured sauce which had a generous kick to it.

After our starters we had a main meal, I chose the salmon as I love fish. It was so tasty and came with roasted sweet potato. I did not think the seabass could be beaten but it was very close.

The conversation flowed all night as did the drinks. Aside from poor Jess, who is seven months pregnant so was unable to join me in enjoying a lovely glass of Rioja.

If I had to sum up the evening: beautiful food and great company.
