Client blog: A little R&R in Sardinia

“We were looking for a peaceful and relaxing holiday, with activities available, and the Garden Beach in Cagliari, Sardinia was the perfect fit.

In a quiet corner of the Island, the resort is beautifully laid out, spotlessly clean and provides every facility you may need.

We visited in the first week of June when the flowers and trees were at their glorious best and the birdlife sang to us each morning. House martins are allowed to nest undisturbed and the incessant chatter of sparrows was a charming background to our romantic getaway.

Fragrances of jasmine and other wonderful plants linger around every corner, and the view of mountains behind the ocean is pure perfection.

From every room, there is no more than a two-minute walk to either the private beach or the enormous swimming pool. There is a spa offering various treatments, a small shop, a couple of tennis courts and a very well equipped gym.

Should it be your thing, there is nightly entertainment, provided by a delightful and enthusiastic team of talented people. Held in the large open amphitheatre, it was a fun way to meet fellow guests and make friends.

The food was excellent. Meals were beautifully presented with an enormous choice to suit every palate. Local wine and beer were plentiful and we found that half-board was more than sufficient. For those staying in the more expensive rooms, there was an additional beach restaurant to choose from.

We would recommend hiring a car to see more of the Island, which can be arranged through the very helpful reception staff. Public transport is virtually non-existent and taxis can be expensive.

We found the locals and staff very friendly and accommodating. Sardinia is a very special place and definitely one to be revisited.

A massive thank you to Abbotts Travel for organising our trip.”
