We have long been fans of Martinhal as a fantastic family resort and were delighted when our client Sanjay and his family visited this year. Organised through Julie, it was the family’s first trip to Portugal.

“The villa we had was perfect for us, with lots of space and a good kitchen and living area. The bedrooms were a good size and the pool was lovely.
The Martinhal is a quality resort and very child-friendly. They have play areas, as well as supervised play by each restaurant. Our son loved the kids club, which he used a few times throughout the week.
The restaurants may have been a bit pricey, but they were excellent (the beach restaurants were better value for money).
The beach was stunning. The only slight downside for my partner was the strong winds, but I found it kept us cool on an otherwise very hot day. We also managed a day at Zoo da Lagos where a bit of that sea breeze would have been welcome!
The transfer was 90 minutes, and the taxi service was excellent as they had a 6-8 seater Mercedes with baby seats on demand.
Portugal is fantastic and this holiday has shown me what the country has to offer.
It was a brilliant trip and I would highly recommend the resort. We would certainly consider returning but for me it doesn’t quite beat the Gloria resort in Turkey.
