“After a few years of cruises and hectic holidays, my husband and I fancied a trip away where we could just relax. Our wish list was fairly simple – a beach, swimming pool, good restaurants, a kids club for our football mad 8-year-old son and a flight from Stansted Airport.
After several hours of trawling through the internet and seeing places we DIDN’T want to go, I realised that I often pass Abbotts Travel in South Woodford.
Should I really go to a travel agent? Wasn’t that quite old school?
After some research into Abbotts Travel, noting their considerable awards and following them on Twitter, I decided it was time to give it a go.
I went along to their store, wish list in hand, and was greeted by the friendly face of Julie Gooding. Within a few minutes, Julie recommended Grande Real Santa Eulalia Resort & Spa in the Algarve, travelling with Jet2 holidays from Stansted Airport.
A few days later the whole trip was booked.
It was lovely not to have to worry about the usual process of checking-in, printing boarding passes and stressing about entering information correctly. Julie took care of everything.
It was our first time flying and holidaying with Jet2 and they were fantastic from start to finish. Over the last few years we have travelled with both EasyJet and RyanAir, and Jet2 are several steps ahead with regards to customer service.
We also decided to do a trip to Zoomarine and two reps came out of their way to meet us at the hotel rather than us waiting for their next visit. (Zoomarine is well worth the trip!)
The hotel was fantastic. We had a lovely apartment, a choice of swimming pools without the usual fight for a sunbed, easy access to a fantastic beach, a choice of good restaurants and the kids club was well staffed with activities including indoor and outdoor football, which kept our young one entertained.
We all left feeling relaxed and recharged after a wonderful break. We would definitely return to the hotel and fly with Jet2 again.
