When Chigwell Golf Club members Fiona and Nick left our Showcase in March with a complimentary two-night stay in a deluxe suite courtesy of Terre Blanche Hotel Spa Golf Resort, we did everything we could to help them score a hole in one. They booked an extra night in the luxurious resort, situated in Provence, France and here’s how their mini-break went…
“We were already very familiar with France, having visited many times before, but nonetheless excited for our trip. Despite Nice being nearer, we flew with Ryanair into Marseille and drove two hours to Provence.
There was a typical Provençal feel on arrival, beautiful surroundings and well kept grounds. We stayed in a very pleasant traditional villa, and were provided with a complimentary robe/slippers/flip flops and a bag (although we would happily have swapped for some additional milk and tea, which is charged).
There were more families on the resort than we would have expected, but we imagine the facilities were a big draw for youngsters.
The grounds were wonderful to walk around and the resort is fabulous for non-golfing partners too - with a great pool, fantastic spa facilities and lots of activities.
The golf provisions were top draw with fantastic practice facilities and an absolutely phenomenal practice course.
The resort is home to two courses that we found highly challenging, with lots of twists and turns, meaning it often felt nicely like we were the only ones playing.
In addition to superb facilities, the food was also outstanding. Wine was reasonably priced and a very engaging sommelier provided us with impressive glasses to try.
Overall it was a thoroughly enjoyable mini break and one that we would highly recommend. Thank you to Abbotts Travel and Terre Blanche for giving us the opportunity!”
