“Turning 30 was a big deal for me and there was no better way to spend the occasion than with a trip to Mexico alongside my closest friends. Finding a hotel to please everyone proved tricky, but UNICO 20°87° was an all-round crowd pleaser. I had never stayed at an all-inclusive resort before so was a little apprehensive, but once we arrived and were told that the all-inclusive package included the spa treatments, I was sold. On arrival we were collected by a private driver, no big coach and multiple drop offs on this trip! We were greeted not only with a huge smile but also a chilled Corona, water and local snacks, which went down a treat.
It was an easy 60-minute journey to the hotel, where we were welcomed by the friendly staff and introduced to our host, Daniella. Little did we know how close we would become to her (who was nothing short of incredible), not only did she show us to our rooms and tell us all we needed to know about the hotel, facilities and amenities, but she then went on to unpack our suitcases and hang all our clothes away. She also ensured reservations at our restaurant of choosing every evening.
The night we arrived we had pre-booked massages and facials. The spa itself was beautiful, from the décor, facilities, the relaxation pools and the treatments themselves… I knew the next 10 days were going to be heaven.
The hotel has five different restaurants, which host a variety of cuisines. The food Presentation was amazing and it honestly tasted as good as it looked. We couldn’t complain about any of the meals we had, which is surprising as I am a very fussy eater and a bit of a foodie. The hotel also has an events and experiences team, who help plan to activities throughout the day. From water games, live entertainment by the pool, outdoor spinning classes, art classes and even tequila tasting - they really do have it all. The team amazed me on my birthday with an incredible set up in one of the pool cabanas. I was absolutely spoilt, not only by my friends, but also by the entire team of staff. As I was presented with my fifth or sixth birthday cake in as many days, I knew it was the attention to detail and high level of service that makes UNICO 20°87° so special - not just the beautiful beachside, the stunning pools (of which there are three) or the amazing food. Not to mention the hotels app that makes ordering poolside drinks, in-room dining and excursions so easy. Having a mum who works in the travel industry, I have been fortunate to experience a number of amazing hotels in my my time, but UNICO 20°87° is certainly in my top five. All in all, our celebrations were spectacular and even more than I could have hoped for. We’ll be back!” Natasha
