Amanyara (‘peaceful place') is a secluded beachside resort situated on the island of Providenciales in the Turks and Caicos, a group of more than 40 islands and small cays located around 600 miles south east of Miami.
The property's white-sand beach and rocky coves border Northwest Point Marine National Park, acclaimed for some of the world's best wall and reef diving.
Accommodation
Amanyara's open-air pavilions and villas, many with direct access to the sea, put the focus on the surrounding landscape. Dovetailing with the dramatic scenery, those Pavilions are nestled in coastal vegetation, overlooking ponds or the waters of Northwest Point Marine Reserve.
Overhanging eaves shade terraces on three sides of each pavilion, accessed via floor-to-ceiling glass doors that open to a combined bedroom and living area. Some offer private pools and two bedrooms.
The villas offer consummate privacy and space in natural surroundings. Generously proportioned living areas together with three to six bedrooms are set around a black infinity pool and hardwood deck. Overlooking reflective ponds and gardens, several feature ocean views while others offer direct beach access. All are serviced by personal cooks and housekeepers.
Wellness
Set around a tranquil pond, Amanyara's spa encompasses four treatment pavilions, a relaxation pavilion and an outdoor yoga sala. The Fitness Centre features a Pilates studio and is equipped with cardio and resistance training equipment, while the Club House is home to four tennis courts, a multi-sport field, volleyball court and golf simulator.
Dining
At the restaurant, guests can dine either indoors and air-conditioned or outside on the central pond. Freshly caught seafood – from red snapper to tuna and grouper – is the focus, complemented by organic produce from the resort's aquaponic vegetable garden. The Beach Club serves raw food dishes as well as cuisine baked in a stone hearth oven.
Activities & Excursions
Amanyara’s exceptional natural setting ensures no shortage of exciting outdoor activities including, but not limited to: Scuba Diving - with a 17-mile barrier reef hugging the northeast coastline, Providenciales provides many world-class dive sites. The remarkable coral reef walls of Northwest Point Marine National Park are yards from the resort.
Snorkelling – Amanyara beach bottom declines gradually until the reef wall drops to 2,100m (6,888ft). A complimentary guided snorkelling trip occurs daily.
Fishing - Providenciales and its neighbouring islands boast some of the finest fishing grounds in the Caribbean with potential catches like the elusive bonefish and the Atlantic blue marlin.
Turtle Tagging - the Amanyara Turtle Initiative helps safeguard the green and hawksbill turtle populations of the islands. Join expert naturalists to tag and release turtles in the wild.
Whale Watching - between February and April, migrating humpback whales can be spotted just offshore.
Golf - the Providenciales Golf Club, rated among the top 10 courses in the Caribbean, is a 35-minute drive away.
